Justin Faunce

I was very upset to learn that I would not be in New York in time to see Justin Faunces' new show at Leo Koenig; It came down November 18th. I saw one of his pieces in the PS1 Greater New York show a few years back. They're very painstaking and impressive. And Justin is really cute in person.

Thursday night (11/15) after 5 it is free at the Art Institute of Chicago, going to check out the Jasper Johns exhibit again, and Doug Aitkens' video installation, "Thaw"

November 17th is closing night for the SelectMedia festival, at

Co-Prosperity Sphere, "High Frontiers" 8pm

They have turned the entire (huge) gallery space into a space age theme installation featuring a giant wooden robot by artist Michael T. Rea (www.mikerea.com)

last free weekend at the MCA

this is the last free weekend at the MCA. Their 40th anniversary ends November 14th. Soon those who don't want to pay $12.00 to get in will have to be content with browsing their bookstore. Though oft in my experience the bookstore is the highlight of the visit. :) I had already seen the main exhibits and the point of my visit was to check out the new show at the 12x12 space. The artist this month is Cody Hudson.
